ImagePangeran Diponegoro adalah anak Sultan Hamengko Buwono III dari Yogyakarta. Salah seorang raja dari kerajaan Jawa Terakhir yang memimpin perlawanan terhadap Belanda, yang dikenal sebagai Perang Jawa pada tahun 1825 1830.  Perang bermula pada penolakan terhadap kebijaksanaan pemerintah kolonial Belanda yang meninggalkan pajak dan pola aturan pemilikan tanah yang tidak adil.
